Rajasthan & Beyond
A Journey of Culture, Temples, and Timeless Memories
In September 2024, we had the joy of welcoming a group of 10–12 travellers from the United States on a 15-day journey through North India. From the royal palaces of Rajasthan to the serene banks of the Ganges in Rishikesh, this tour blended history, spirituality, and unforgettable cultural experiences.
rajasthan
Our adventure began in Delhi, where the grandeur of Mughal monuments and bustling bazaars introduced the group to India’s vibrant soul. The highlight, of course, was the drive to Agra, where the majestic Taj Mahal left everyone awestruck. Watching the marble monument glow under the moonlight was a dream moment. Alongside, the group explored Agra Fort and enjoyed the bustling markets, especially indulging in marble inlay shopping, a craft unique to the city.
From Agra, the road carried us to the “Pink City” of Jaipur. With its grand palaces, bustling bazaars, and intricate observatories, Jaipur was a feast for the senses. The group admired the Hawa Mahal, the City Palace, and the Jantar Mantar, while also enjoying elephant rides up to the Amber Fort. Shopping was another highlight—our guests loved browsing for carpets and dazzling gemstones, taking home souvenirs as bright as their memories.
The journey continued into the desert heart of Jodhpur, the “Blue City.” Here, the Mehrangarh Fort stood tall over indigo-hued houses, telling stories of courage and royalty. Exploring the old markets, listening to local folk music, and walking through winding streets brought everyone closer to the spirit of Rajasthan. An optional camel safari offered a glimpse of the desert’s timeless beauty.
We then made our way through Ranakpur and Nathdwara, where the group experienced spiritual serenity in temples and admired the artistry of local crafts. Soon after, we arrived in Udaipur, the “City of Lakes.” A boat ride at sunset on Lake Pichola, surrounded by golden palaces, was one of the most magical evenings of the tour. Visits to the City Palace, Jagdish Temple, and Eklingji Temple added depth to the experience, while local cuisine delighted the taste buds with flavours as rich as the city’s history.
The final chapter of our journey unfolded in Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the World. Nestled on the banks of the Ganges and in the lap of the Himalayas, Rishikesh offered calm after the bustle of Rajasthan. The group practised yoga and meditation, visited Parmarth Niketan Ashram for the evening Ganga Aarti, and explored sacred spaces like Vashistha Cave and Neem Karoli Baba Ashram. A sunrise hike to Kunjapuri Temple revealed breathtaking views of the snow-capped Himalayas, a fitting finale to this extraordinary journey.
Throughout the trip, our guests immersed themselves in India’s cultural richness. They savoured authentic Indian cuisine, from royal Rajasthani thalis to riverside meals in Rishikesh. They travelled in comfort, with luxury coaches making long drives enjoyable. Most importantly, they connected with the warmth of the people—whether it was artisans sharing their crafts, priests offering blessings at temples, or children waving with joy in village streets.
For many in the group, this was more than a holiday—it was a revelation. They discovered that India is not just a place to visit but a world to feel, with layers of history, devotion, and hospitality that touch the heart.
As we concluded in Rishikesh, the group reflected on their shopping bags filled with marble, carpets, gemstones, and handicrafts—but more than that, on the intangible treasures: friendships, stories, and memories that would stay with them for a lifetime.
This journey through Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Nathdwara, Udaipur, and Rishikesh was a perfect blend of royalty, spirituality, and authentic experiences. For our guests, it became a story they will carry forever—a story of India in all its colours.

Sacred Kashmir
An Exclusive Pilgrimage Through Timeless Shrines
Kashmir is not only a land of breathtaking valleys and shimmering lakes—it is also a sacred cradle of Shaivism, Devi worship, and spiritual philosophy. For centuries, sages, saints, and seekers have walked these very paths in search of truth and transcendence. On this 8–9 day journey in and around Srinagar, we step into that living heritage, visiting some of the most revered shrines, temples, and mystical sites that make Kashmir a land unlike any other.
kashmir
Our pilgrimage begins at the Śārikā-devī Temple on Hariparvat, overlooking Srinagar. Known as Chakreshwarī, the goddess here is revered as the presiding deity of the valley. From there, we enter the serene atmosphere of Swami Lakshman Joo’s Ashram, a place that continues to radiate the profound teachings of Kashmir Shaivism.
Not far from Srinagar lies the mystical Kheer Bhavani Temple at Tulmul, where the image of the Devi rests in the center of a sacred spring. Pilgrims believe that the colours of the water foretell the destiny of the valley, and the presence of the Shree Yantra in the waters at midnight adds to its aura of wonder.
The journey carries us further to Khrew’s Jwalamukhi Temple, where eternal flames speak of the Devi’s presence, and to Balahom, where Tripurasundarī is worshipped at the roots of an ancient tree—symbols of life, endurance, and cosmic energy.
In South Kashmir, the ruins of Mārtaṇḍa Temple, dedicated to the Sun God, rise like silent guardians of a once-magnificent past. Nearby, the Avantipor temples reveal tales of devotion and architectural brilliance from the 9th century. On the way back, the Shankaracharya Temple stands tall above Srinagar, where the great philosopher himself is said to have meditated, blessed by a bird that defied the mighty Mughals.
The pilgrimage deepens with a visit to the cave of Abhinavagupta, the great Kashmiri philosopher-saint who is believed to have entered eternal samadhi here. At Dachigam, by the mountain streams, seekers can connect with the rock where the Shiva Sutras were revealed—one of the most profound gifts of Kashmir to the world of philosophy.
We also walk through Parimahal, once home to sage Utpaladeva, now a Mughal garden that still breathes with ancient potency. Here, legend speaks of sixty Devis who appeared in a dream, gifting verses of wisdom. At Bijbehara, a small Shiva temple offers an unusual practice—where eleven devotees, chanting the sacred syllable ka, can miraculously lift a massive Shiva-lingam with just their fingertips.
The journey completes with a quiet visit to the Jyestha shrine, carrying the subtle energies of Kashmir’s goddess tradition, wrapping the pilgrimage in blessings of protection and grace.
Through this exclusive journey, travellers not only experience sacred shrines but also listen to timeless stories, myths, and philosophies that bring these places alive. Each temple, each stone, and each legend speaks of a Kashmir that is eternal—a Kashmir where nature, divinity, and devotion merge into one seamless experience.
This is more than a tour; it is a spiritual awakening, a chance to retrace the footsteps of saints and sages, and to feel the living heartbeat of sacred Kashmir.

Depth of knowledge and years of experience of YQT came through every point of my touring experience. With the logistics and planning taken care of I was free to just enjoy and marvel at India. My first experience in India was with one of Yoga Quest Tours. Everything was organised impeccably by their experts, and I felt completely at ease and was able to enjoy a spiritual pilgrimage. The highlight was the regular darshans at temples which were rarely visited by Westerners. These encounters proved transformative in bringing my yoga studies alive. I have since taken two more tours with the YQT and have no hesitation in recommending them.

I’ve been to India twice now on tours with Yoga Quest Tours. We visited many different places, many sacred sites and out-of-the-way places. Our bus was new and extremely clean and comfortable. The hotel accommodations were wonderful, lovely hotels in extraordinary settings. I always felt completely taken care of. Yusuf paid attention to every detail and went out of his way to make sure we were always safe, and comfortable and had what we needed. The team genuinely cared for each one of us and worked very hard for our welfare.
