Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu is renowned for its rich heritage of living temples, with a particular emphasis on those dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the three principal deities in the Hindu holy trinity known as the ‘Trimurti.’ Our journey takes us to the most prominent temples and ashrams in this captivating state, allowing us to immerse ourselves in its spiritual and cultural treasures.
Our itinerary includes a visit to the Siva Nataraja temple, where Lord Shiva is depicted as the cosmic dancer, a symbol recognised and revered worldwide. We explore the magnificent and expansive living temple of Sri Meenakshi Amman in Madurai. Here, a captivating ritual unfolds every night as the Meenakshi, the enchanting fish-eyed goddess, is ceremoniously carried to the sanctum sanctorum of Lord Siva.
We will also have the privilege of visiting the ashram of Sri Ramana Maharshi, one of the most significant Indian sages of the past five centuries. His ashram is nestled at the base of Mount Arunachala, the sacred mountain of Tamil Nadu, providing a serene setting for introspection and spiritual exploration.
Lastly, our journey takes us to Rameswaram, one of the twelve sacred Shiva temples situated at the very point where India meets Sri Lanka. Here, you will have the unique opportunity to participate in the timeless bathing ritual within the Jyotirlinga Siva temple, a profound and sacred experience.
Sacred Maharashtra
A Spiritual Journey Through History
In November 2024, we had the privilege of leading a group of 25 travellers on an extraordinary journey across the sacred heart of Maharashtra. Over ten days, this adventure unfolded as a seamless blend of devotion, culture, and discovery. From ancient rock-cut caves to vibrant temples, from peaceful yoga mornings to bustling bazaars, every moment brought our group closer to the soul of India.
Our journey began in Mumbai, the city of dreams, where the mystical Elephanta Caves whispered stories of Lord Shiva carved deep into the island’s rock. We explored history at the CSMVS Museum, gaining insights into India’s timeless art and culture before heading inland toward the serene hill town of Lonavala.
Here, the spiritual calm of Kaivalyadhama Ashram and the ancient wonders of the Karla and Bhaja Caves set the tone for our pilgrimage. Surrounded by hills and forests, these Buddhist cave complexes revealed intricate carvings and centuries of devotion. The group was inspired not only by the heritage but also by the serene yoga sessions that rejuvenated body and mind.
The sacred trail led us next to Pune, where the samadhi shrines of Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram offered powerful encounters with Maharashtra’s Bhakti tradition. The group found themselves deeply moved, standing where saints once spread their message of love and devotion.
From Pune, we continued toward Ahmednagar, stopping at temples like Bhuleshwar and Someshwar, each layered with legends and architectural charm. The road conditions were at times challenging, but the group’s spirit remained high, fueled by the promise of darshans and the joy of shared experience.
One of the journey’s highlights was the awe-inspiring Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site where ancient Buddhist murals and sculptures come alive in vibrant detail. To walk through Ajanta was to step into a painted world of faith and storytelling that has survived for centuries.
The next days were spent at Ellora, exploring its magnificent complexes dedicated to Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. The sheer grandeur of the Kailasa Temple, carved entirely from a single rock, left everyone speechless—it was a reminder of the devotion and artistry that define India’s heritage.
Our final days in Aurangabad gave us the chance to visit the elegant Bibi Ka Maqbara, often called the ‘Taj of the Deccan,’ before bringing the journey to a reflective close.
What made this journey truly special was not just the sacred sites but the experiences in between. Our travellers loved the local Maharashtrian cuisine, from piping hot puran polis to tangy misal pav, and delighted in small-town shopping, picking up handicrafts and keepsakes. Travelling together in a comfortable bus, sharing laughter on bumpy roads, they created bonds and memories that went far beyond sightseeing.
Equally unforgettable was the warmth of the people. At temples, priests and devotees welcomed us with kindness. In schools and villages, children waved joyfully, reminding our guests from the West of India’s unmatched hospitality. Many shared that while the road was not always easy, the love and care they experienced everywhere made the journey unforgettable.
This sacred journey through Maharashtra was more than a tour; it was an immersion into faith, resilience, and heritage. For our group, it became a reminder that India is not only to be seen, but to be felt, with the heart, the spirit, and the soul.
Shaktipeethas of Himachal
A Sacred Journey Through the Shaktipeethas of Himachal
In the heart of Himachal, where mountains whisper ancient legends and valleys carry the fragrance of devotion, lies a trail that connects some of the most revered Shaktipeethas of India. Last August, I had the privilege of leading a private group of 10–12 seekers on a soul-stirring journey through these divine landscapes—a journey where faith, comfort, and storytelling came together in harmony.
Our path began in Chandigarh, the gateway to the hills, and soon we ascended to the lofty shrine of Naina Devi. Perched majestically above Gobind Sagar Lake, this sacred temple is believed to be the very place where the eyes of Goddess Sati fell. Standing at its threshold, gazing at the panoramic expanse of water and mountains, one could almost feel the presence of the Goddess in the cool Himalayan breeze.
From there, we ventured further into the hills, each stop unveiling layers of legend and devotion. At Chintpurni Temple, where Goddess Chhinnamastika is worshipped, the faithful believe that worries dissolve and prayers take flight. The chants, the fragrance of incense, and the devotion of pilgrims created an atmosphere that touched every heart in our group.
Our journey carried us to Jwalamukhi, one of the most extraordinary temples in India. Here, the Goddess reveals herself not in an idol but as eternal flames emerging from the earth. Watching the flickering blue flames in silence, many of us felt a deep sense of wonder, an unexplainable connection to something far greater than ourselves.
The final chapter of our pilgrimage unfolded in the serene embrace of Dharamsala, where the majesty of the Kangra Valley meets the spiritual charm of Tibetan monasteries. Amid prayer flags fluttering in the mountain air and the ringing of temple bells, we explored nearby sacred shrines, each echoing stories of divine feminine power.
What made this journey truly unique was not just the sacred destinations but the way we experienced them, through the comfort of a private, curated tour. With handpicked stays, freshly prepared meals, and stories shared around the table, our travellers enjoyed both the serenity of pilgrimage and the luxury of personal care.
This was not merely a tour; it was a tapestry of devotion, nature, and culture, woven together into an experience that lingers long after the mountains are left behind. A journey to the Shaktipeethas of Himachal is more than travel; it is a calling, an awakening, and a chance to walk in the footsteps of timeless legends.
Rajasthan & Beyond
A Journey of Culture, Temples, and Timeless Memories
In September 2024, we had the joy of welcoming a group of 10–12 travellers from the United States on a 15-day journey through North India. From the royal palaces of Rajasthan to the serene banks of the Ganges in Rishikesh, this tour blended history, spirituality, and unforgettable cultural experiences.
Our adventure began in Delhi, where the grandeur of Mughal monuments and bustling bazaars introduced the group to India’s vibrant soul. The highlight, of course, was the drive to Agra, where the majestic Taj Mahal left everyone awestruck. Watching the marble monument glow under the moonlight was a dream moment. Alongside the group explored Agra Fort and enjoyed the bustling markets, especially indulging in marble inlay shopping, a craft unique to the city.
From Agra, the road carried us to the “Pink City” of Jaipur. With its grand palaces, bustling bazaars, and intricate observatories, Jaipur was a feast for the senses. The group admired the Hawa Mahal, the City Palace, and the Jantar Mantar, while also enjoying elephant rides up to the Amber Fort. Shopping was another highlight—our guests loved browsing for carpets and dazzling gemstones, taking home souvenirs as bright as their memories.
The journey continued into the desert heart of Jodhpur, the “Blue City.” Here, the Mehrangarh Fort stood tall over indigo-hued houses, telling stories of courage and royalty. Exploring the old markets, listening to local folk music, and walking through winding streets brought everyone closer to the spirit of Rajasthan. An optional camel safari offered a glimpse of the desert’s timeless beauty.
We then made our way through Ranakpur and Nathdwara, where the group experienced spiritual serenity in temples and admired the artistry of local crafts. Soon after, we arrived in Udaipur, the “City of Lakes.” A boat ride at sunset on Lake Pichola, surrounded by golden palaces, was one of the most magical evenings of the tour. Visits to the City Palace, Jagdish Temple, and Eklingji Temple added depth to the experience, while local cuisine delighted the taste buds with flavours as rich as the city’s history.
The final chapter of our journey unfolded in Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the World. Nestled on the banks of the Ganges and in the lap of the Himalayas, Rishikesh offered calm after the bustle of Rajasthan. The group practised yoga and meditation, visited Parmarth Niketan Ashram for the evening Ganga Aarti, and explored sacred spaces like Vashistha Cave and Neem Karoli Baba Ashram. A sunrise hike to Kunjapuri Temple revealed breathtaking views of the snow-capped Himalayas, a fitting finale to this extraordinary journey.
Throughout the trip, our guests immersed themselves in India’s cultural richness. They savoured authentic Indian cuisine, from royal Rajasthani thalis to riverside meals in Rishikesh. They travelled in comfort, with luxury coaches making long drives enjoyable. Most importantly, they connected with the warmth of the people, whether it was artisans sharing their crafts, priests offering blessings at temples, or children waving with joy in village streets.
For many in the group, this was more than a holiday; it was a revelation. They discovered that India is not just a place to visit but a world to feel, with layers of history, devotion, and hospitality that touch the heart.
As we concluded in Rishikesh, the group reflected on their shopping bags filled with marble, carpets, gemstones, and handicrafts, but more than that, on the intangible treasures: friendships, stories, and memories that would stay with them for a lifetime.
This journey through Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Nathdwara, Udaipur, and Rishikesh was a perfect blend of royalty, spirituality, and authentic experiences. For our guests, it became a story they will carry forever, a story of India in all its colours.
Karnataka
Heritage, Temples & Timeless Beauty
In December 2024, we had the privilege of guiding a spirited group of 30–35 travellers from the United States on a remarkable journey through Karnataka. Over 10–12 days, we explored a landscape where majestic palaces, timeless temples, and bustling bazaars revealed the soul of southern India.
Our adventure began in Bangalore, the cosmopolitan gateway to Karnataka. The group was charmed by the city’s gardens, lively streets, and colourful markets—a perfect introduction to India’s vibrant culture.
From there, we travelled to the royal city of Mysore, where the dazzling Mysore Palace lit up the night like a fairytale. The group loved tasting local sweets, browsing silk shops, and walking through bustling bazaars filled with sandalwood and spices. A visit to Chamundi Hill offered sweeping views and blessings at the temple, where locals greeted us with warmth and devotion.
Our next destination was Hassan, home to the Hoysala temples of Belur and Halebidu. The group stood in awe before intricately carved sculptures that seemed alive with stories of gods, dancers, and warriors. Here, India’s artistic brilliance unfolded in stone.
The journey then carried us to the awe-inspiring ruins of Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walking among giant boulders, crumbling temples, and the iconic stone chariot of the Vittala Temple, our travellers felt as though they had stepped back into the Vijayanagara Empire. Evenings by the Tungabhadra River were filled with reflection and wonder.
Our trail continued to Badami, Aihole, and Pattadakal – the birthplace of Indian temple architecture. At Badami, cave temples cut into sandstone cliffs revealed centuries of devotion. Aihole displayed dozens of experimental temple forms, while Pattadakal harmonised northern and southern styles, testifying to Karnataka’s role as a cultural bridge.
Throughout the journey, our travellers delighted in authentic local cuisine – from fragrant dosas and curries to regional sweets. They also enjoyed shopping for handicrafts and silks, bringing home treasures to remember India by. Travelling in a luxury bus, the group found comfort and camaraderie, sharing laughter, stories, and songs along the way.
What touched everyone most deeply was the love and care of the people we met. At temples, villagers welcomed us with open hearts; in schools, children greeted us with wide smiles and innocent curiosity. Many in the group shared that they had never experienced such warmth before, and it made India feel less like a destination and more like a home.
By the time we reached Hubballi, where the journey concluded, our travellers were overwhelmed by the richness of what they had seen and felt. They admitted they could hardly “admire or even fully understand how vast and diverse India truly is.” For them, Karnataka was not just a place of monuments – it was a living story, filled with colour, kindness, and memory.
This journey was more than sightseeing – it was a heartfelt connection to India’s heritage and its people. From the grandeur of Mysore to the artistry of Halebidu, from the ruins of Hampi to the sacred caves of Badami, every moment brought our group closer to the timeless soul of Karnataka.
For anyone seeking a journey that is both luxurious and deeply meaningful, Karnataka offers not just temples and palaces, but an unforgettable encounter with the spirit of India itself.
Tamil Nadu – Pancha Bhootha Temples
A Sacred Journey of the Five Elements
In January 2025, we had the honour of guiding a group of 20–30 seekers on a transformative journey across Tamil Nadu, tracing the path of the Pancha Bhootha temples, where Lord Shiva is worshipped as the embodiment of the five elements – Air, Earth, Fire, Sky, and Water. This pilgrimage was not only about visiting ancient shrines but also about experiencing the living traditions, local culture, cuisine, and the profound hospitality of South India.
Our journey began at Srikalahasti, the temple of Air. Here, the sacred Vayu Lingam radiates the power of breath and life itself. Pilgrims have long believed this shrine purifies the spirit and connects one to the very essence of existence. From there, we traveled to Kanchipuram, the city of a thousand temples, where the Ekambareshwar Temple represents Earth. Under the shade of a 3,500-year-old mango tree, our group felt the grounding energy of the Prithvi Lingam and marveled at the legends of the Goddess Kamakshi, whose devotion united her with Lord Shiva.
Continuing the journey, we paused in Mahabalipuram, where the shore temples and stone-carved monuments overlooking the Bay of Bengal whispered stories of ancient dynasties. From here, the path led us to Thiruvannamalai, home to the Fire Lingam. At the Arunachaleswarar Temple, Shiva is said to have manifested as a column of flame, his boundless energy symbolizing duty, sacrifice, and liberation. The group also connected deeply at the Ramana Maharishi Ashram, where meditation and silence revealed a different dimension of devotion.
One of the most unforgettable moments came at Chidambaram, the temple of Sky. Here, Lord Shiva dances as Nataraja, the cosmic dancer, embodying the rhythm of creation and dissolution. Our group was blessed to participate in a special Rudra Abhishekam, a powerful and deeply moving ceremony that filled the temple halls with chants, incense, and devotion. For many, this was the spiritual highlight of the entire journey, an experience that words could scarcely capture.
The circle of elements completed at Tiruchirappalli, where the Jambukeshwar Temple represents Water. The Appu Lingam, forever bathed by an underground spring, symbolizes purity and the eternal flow of life. Standing in this temple, one feels both humbled and renewed.
The journey concluded in Madurai, one of India’s most vibrant temple towns. Visiting the Meenakshi Amman Temple, with its towering gopurams and vibrant sculptures, was the perfect finale. Here, amidst chanting, rituals, and the flow of devotees, the group celebrated not only the end of a pilgrimage but the beginning of countless memories.
What made this sacred yatra so special was not only the temples but also the experiences along the way. The group delighted in authentic Tamil Nadu cuisine, from steaming idlis to aromatic curries. They were warmly welcomed by locals, guided through colourful markets, and immersed in traditions that have been alive for millennia.
Travelling together, our group felt safe, cared for, and uplifted at every step. Whether it was sharing meals, exploring temples, or walking barefoot through ancient courtyards, there was a spirit of unity and joy that made this pilgrimage unforgettable.
For all who joined, the Pancha Bhootha Yatra was more than a journey—it was a profound spiritual awakening. By honouring the five elements, we honoured life itself. By experiencing the culture of Tamil Nadu, we touched the living heart of India.
Sacred Kashmir
An Exclusive Pilgrimage Through Timeless Shrines
Kashmir is not only a land of breathtaking valleys and shimmering lakes, it is also a sacred cradle of Shaivism, Devi worship, and spiritual philosophy. For centuries, sages, saints, and seekers have walked these very paths in search of truth and transcendence. On this 8–9 day journey in and around Srinagar, we step into that living heritage, visiting some of the most revered shrines, temples, and mystical sites that make Kashmir a land unlike any other.
Our pilgrimage begins at the Śārikā-devī Temple on Hariparvat, overlooking Srinagar. Known as Chakreshwarī, the goddess here is revered as the presiding deity of the valley. From there, we enter the serene atmosphere of Swami Lakshman Joo’s Ashram, a place that continues to radiate the profound teachings of Kashmir Shaivism.
Not far from Srinagar lies the mystical Kheer Bhavani Temple at Tulmul, where the image of the Devi rests in the center of a sacred spring. Pilgrims believe that the colours of the water foretell the destiny of the valley, and the presence of the Shree Yantra in the waters at midnight adds to its aura of wonder.
The journey carries us further to Khrew’s Jwalamukhi Temple, where eternal flames speak of the Devi’s presence, and to Balahom, where Tripurasundarī is worshipped at the roots of an ancient tree—symbols of life, endurance, and cosmic energy.
In South Kashmir, the ruins of Mārtaṇḍa Temple, dedicated to the Sun God, rise like silent guardians of a once-magnificent past. Nearby, the Avantipor Temples reveal tales of devotion and architectural brilliance from the 9th century. On the way back, the Shankaracharya Temple stands tall above Srinagar, where the great philosopher himself is said to have meditated, blessed by a bird that defied the mighty Mughals.
The pilgrimage deepens with a visit to the cave of Abhinavagupta, the great Kashmiri philosopher-saint who is believed to have entered eternal samadhi here. At Dachigam, by the mountain streams, seekers can connect with the rock where the Shiva Sutras were revealed, one of the most profound gifts of Kashmir to the world of philosophy.
We also walk through Parimahal, once home to sage Utpaladeva, now a Mughal garden that still breathes with ancient potency. Here, legend speaks of sixty Devis who appeared in a dream, gifting verses of wisdom. At Bijbehara, a small Shiva temple offers an unusual practice, where eleven devotees, chanting the sacred syllable ka, can miraculously lift a massive Shiva-lingam with just their fingertips.
The journey completes with a quiet visit to the Jyestha shrine, carrying the subtle energies of Kashmir’s goddess tradition, wrapping the pilgrimage in blessings of protection and grace.
Through this exclusive journey, travellers not only experience sacred shrines but also listen to timeless stories, myths, and philosophies that bring these places alive. Each temple, each stone, and each legend speaks of a Kashmir that is eternal, a Kashmir where nature, divinity, and devotion merge into one seamless experience.
This is more than a tour; it is a spiritual awakening, a chance to retrace the footsteps of saints and sages, and to feel the living heartbeat of sacred Kashmir.
Kashmir Hidden Trails
Gangabal Lake Trek
In 2024, I had the privilege of leading a group of 12–15 spirited travellers on an unforgettable adventure across the heart of Kashmir. Our journey began in Srinagar, where the calm of Dal Lake and the charm of our boutique hotel set the perfect tone for what lay ahead.
From Srinagar, we drove to Chattergul, where the landscapes instantly began to transform. Rolling valleys gave way to pine forests, and the excitement of the trail awaited us. We trekked through the serene Mahlish Meadow, covering nearly 9 km surrounded by lush greenery, grazing horses, and panoramic Himalayan views.
The next stretch took us towards the pristine Nundkol Lake, passing through Kolesar, a route blessed with streams and alpine flowers. Each step was a postcard moment. Soon after, we advanced to Trunkhol, and the anticipation of reaching Gangabal grew stronger.
Standing at the shores of Gangabal Lake, with Harmukh Peak towering above, was a sight that silenced us all. The turquoise waters mirrored the sky, and the crisp mountain air reminded us why this trek is hailed as one of Kashmir’s most magical experiences. From Gangabal, we continued onward to Naranag, descending through pine-scented trails before returning to Srinagar with memories etched forever.
What made this journey even more special was our live kitchen team that traveled with us. Freshly cooked hot meals and steaming snacks kept us fueled, even in freezing temperatures. At night, we rested in luxury tents, braving the chill with warmth, laughter, and endless stories under starry skies.
This 5-day adventure was more than just a trek, it was a soulful escape into nature’s grandeur. From challenging climbs to peaceful lakeside camps, every moment was a reminder of why Kashmir is truly called Paradise on Earth.

Kerala
A Soulful Journey with Yoga, Culture & Backwaters
In January 2025, we had the joy of traveling with a wonderful group of 40 people to Kerala, India’s God’s Own Country. This journey was more than sightseeing, it was a celebration of yoga, culture, food, and togetherness, all set against Kerala’s breathtaking natural beauty.
Our adventure began in Munnar, the hill station famous for its rolling tea gardens, misty mountains, and refreshing air. The group loved wandering through endless green plantations, sipping freshly brewed tea, and soaking in the charm of the highlands. The peace of the hills set the tone for a mindful and rejuvenating journey.
From there, we moved to Thekkady, home of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. A boat ride on Periyar Lake brought us close to elephants, deer, and exotic birds, while the spice plantations of cardamom, pepper, and vanilla delighted the senses. In the evenings, everyone was captivated by Kerala’s ancient martial art, Kalaripayattu, performed with incredible energy and skill.
The highlight for many was our stay in Kumarakom, nestled by the serene backwaters. Here, we spent quality time at a beautiful resort where mornings began with yoga by the water, afternoons were filled with satsangs and kirtans, and evenings invited reflection as the sun set over the lagoons. The calm of Kumarakom was a true gift, giving our group space to connect inwardly and with each other.
Kerala’s famous backwater experience continued in Alleppey, often called the Venice of the East. Cruising overnight on a traditional houseboat was pure magic, watching daily village life along the canals, enjoying delicious Kerala meals on board, and falling asleep to the gentle sound of rippling waters.
Finally, our journey concluded in Cochin (Kochi), the cultural port city that beautifully blends history and modern life. The group enjoyed walking past the iconic Chinese fishing nets, exploring Jew Town and the Jewish Synagogue Street for shopping, and admiring colonial landmarks like the Dutch Palace and St. Francis Church. It was also here that we experienced the spellbinding Kathakali dance show, where expressive art and storytelling left everyone amazed.
Throughout the journey, the group cherished Kerala’s food – spiced curries, fresh seafood, traditional vegetarian feasts, and sweet delicacies. Sharing meals together became part of the joy, just as much as the yoga sessions, kirtans, and cultural evenings.
What touched our travelers most was Kerala’s serenity. Whether in the quiet of Kumarakom’s backwaters, the misty mornings in Munnar, or the golden sunsets over Alleppey, the state has a way of calming the mind and uplifting the soul. Many guests shared how rejuvenated they felt, as though Kerala itself had gently guided them back to balance.
Traveling as a group of 40 only made the experience richer, friendships grew stronger, laughter echoed across houseboats and cafés, and the shared energy of yoga and music created unforgettable bonds.
Kerala left us with much more than memories, it offered peace, connection, and inspiration. From Munnar’s hills to Thekkady’s spices, from Kumarakom’s soulful backwaters to Cochin’s cultural treasures, every stop became a reminder of why Kerala is one of India’s most enchanting destinations.
For anyone seeking a journey that blends wellness, culture, and nature, Kerala awaits. It is not just a place to visit but a land to experience, a journey that touches both the traveler’s heart and spirit.
